RJ and I were driving out of a remote area where we were walking on a glacier (pictures tomorrow) and saw this Moose Cow and her two calves. They were leisurely eating and slowly walking in the heavy forested area.
This calf was following mom closely.
You can see a bit of the second calf in this picture.
We stopped at an "in the middle of no where" restaurant for lunch. This sign almost scared us off.
The mountains around here are beautiful. Lots of low clouds but no rain.
We quickly stopped when RJ spotted this seagull nest in a pond.
This spot was beautiful on its own, but the gull added to it.
There was a single lane road thru this rocky pass. Reminds me of the Mindoro Pass but this was much narrower.
We didn't make it very far on this road before turning around. Too rough, even for us!
Finally we found a spot to get a photo of the Alaskan Pipeline. You get glimpses of it regularly, but can't usually stop. There was no traffic so RJ just slowed down the car and I shot out the window.
Tomorrow I will share pictures of our adventure walking on an iceburg!
You look like you're having a great time in Alaska.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you've missed a thing so far. Nice meese sighting.
