Lake Louise

Lake Louise lived up to all the hype.      There is something so special about this place.     It is out by itself yet has a vibrant personality.    It is so peaceful and relaxing, but you want to go out and canoe or take a hike or walk through the gardens.

The Chateau is large yet intimate.      We strolled around and loved the ambiance.     This trip is different for us - we are booking hotels as we go.      Advance reservations are definitely needed to stay in this landmark.

There is a beautiful walk along one side of the lake.    A nice prelude to lunch.

This view of the Chateau was taken on our walk.

This boathouse rents out the canoes and kayaks.     There are no motorized boats on the lake, so it is the perfect place for a quiet paddle.

We had lunch at their main restaurant and requested a table on the patio.     I'm not sure how it happened, but we were given the best table - center and along the patio rail.     This picture was taken directly from our table.       The food was great.     It was very much like the lunches we enjoyed in Europe.

I would love to go back to this spot and plan far enough ahead so that we could also stay here.
