 COZUMEL, MEXICO

These were our greeters at port.    I'm sure their attire has some meaning, but I have no idea.  They are colorful though.

We were really looking forward to our excursion today.     We were going to a marine park and boarding an Atlantis, TS-XI, a US Coast Guard approved submersible which would take us down 100 feet below the surface to view the barrier reefs corals and tropical fish.   We both were very excited about this.

Have you noticed how often I used past tense - winds are too high and our adventure was cancelled for safety reasons.      I want to be safe, but still am bummed to miss out on this.

We strolled around the rather large cruise ship port (and dozens and dozens of shops) along with the guests from 4 other ships.       The water here is very clear, as you can see the fish below.

We really weren't interested in leaving the confines of the port area so caught a ride back to the ship and went to a specialty restaurant for a nice lunch.

I can no longer say I've never stepped foot in Mexico, but ........

The Sun Princess is a great ship and is a strong contender for our probable trip to the Greek Islands in 2026, but first, a cruise around Iceland.
